Is It Time to Get My Wisdom Teeth Removed?

Wisdom teeth have a reputation for being problematic and we will keep a close eye on the development and position of any still to erupt. So what are the signs that it is time to get your wisdom teeth removed?

Reasons for Removing Wisdom Teeth

We will suggest their removal if there is no chance of your wisdom teeth being able to erupt normally. This might be the case if they are positioned so they will try to come up underneath the adjacent tooth, or they could try to push sideways through the gums. Sometimes a wisdom tooth will partially erupt; initially this might not seem like too much of a problem except a partially erupted tooth will still be partly covered by a flap of gum tissue that will be tricky to keep clean, increasing your risk of infection and decay.

Removing Wisdom Teeth Before they Cause Problems

Our aim is to identify any potential issues with your wisdom teeth so they can be removed before they cause you any discomfort or pain and before they can damage the teeth adjacent to them.

If the time has come to have your wisdom teeth removed then you can rest assured we’ll make sure the entire procedure is as smooth and problem-free as possible. Dr Hollander has more than fifteen years’ experience in wisdom teeth removal and we can offer you happy gas in our dental practice or general anaesthesia can be given at hospital.
