Why You Need “Me Time”
There is a lot of talk about needing a bit of “me time” but does it really matter? The answer is definitely yes and putting aside a little time for yourself will help reduce stress, enabling you to recharge your batteries.
The Dangers of Stress
Most of us get stressed from time to time, but if you don’t take action to address this problem it can take a serious toll on your physical and psychological health. Chronic stress can lower your immune system, may lead to higher blood pressure levels and raises your risk of heart disease. Stress increases your susceptibility to depression, can worsen diseases such as diabetes and cancer and it speeds up the aging process.
Make Time for You
You need “me time” on a regular basis, so take some time out to do something nice for yourself. Even fifteen to thirty minutes each day can make a difference, improving concentration levels and creativity and hopefully making you feel happier and healthier.
